AMERICAN APPLIANCE PRODUCTS is a division of SSW Holding, a global leader in metal forming for the consumer products industry.  We are searching a 3rd shift Engineering Technician at our plant in Newport, TN.  As a result of our commitment to quality our facility is expanding rapidly.  We are looking for individuals who have a strong work ethic, are results oriented and can get the job done.

BASIC FUNCTION

To aid to the Engineering Department in the overall performance of the unit as a whole.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with Company policies.
  • Interact in a professional manner with other employees/customers.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Provide required drawings on Auto Cad system of plant layouts, customer parts, machine layouts, office layouts etc.
  • Computer input of information to the BPCS system, such as item masters, bill of materials, routing, etc.
  • Assist quality department with Excel spreadsheets or layouts as required.
  • Provide technical support in developing, supporting and improving processes.
  • Assist in prototyping, trial runs, FPA, and PPAP.
  • Assist the Engineering Department with all normal work on a daily basis.
  • Assist in integration, startup and troubleshooting plant equipment.
  • PM work on robotics – greasing, backing up programs, tooling maintenance, etc.
  • Source purchased components and request quotes on machined parts.
  • Minor design work (CAD)
  • Provide support for tool room and maintenance.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a current machine numbering system throughout the plant.
  • Audit blueprints.
  • Assist the Industrial Engineer with standards development and up keep.
  • Will undertake assigned projects relating to the tasks involved in the daily overall Engineering function.  Duties will include the less technical aspects, with emphasis towards developing the individual for advancement and all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • 2 year (Associates or Technical) degree preferred.
  • One or more years successful experience in a related field.
  • Excellent attendance
  • Excellent blueprint reading proficiency.
  • Self-motivated and ability to multitask.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to learn robot programming – experience with Fanuc robots a plus.
  • Machining and welding experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling a plus.

 Pay: 

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
