Job Description

American Appliance Products, LLC in Newport, is looking for highly-skilled maintenance technicians to start immediately! We have been authorized to pay based on experience and skill-set!

Job Highlights:

  • Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles, writing specification, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
  • Reads blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
  • Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and program Allen Bradley plcs and servo drives.
  • Ability to troubleshoot high and low voltage equipment.
  • Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Receptive to training and performing functions in multiple areas.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment; responsible for proper waste disposal
  • Must be able to successfully function both independently as well as within a cross-shift team environment and be able to adapt to change.
  • Performs other duties as required

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Vocational or specialized training in electrical/industrial maintenance
  • 2 year industrial maintenance degree or 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • 3 year minimum experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
  • Ability to operate computer managed maintenance software.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
  • Proven mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Flexibility of being called in on off-shifts and working overtime as required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair Allen Bradley controllers.
  • Ability to arc, mig and tig weld.
